HOUSING
A Pathway to Stability
Our Transitional Housing Program serves adults recovering from substance use, domestic violence, incarceration, or human trafficking. We provide subsidized housing and holistic, individualized case management to support each program participant’s unique journey. In a structured, supportive environment, adults build life skills, gain work experience, and grow in confidence as they work toward self-sufficiency. As participants progress through each stage, they transition into housing with greater independence. Each year, we support around 80 individuals on their path to stable, permanent housing.
Our program participants are provided up to two years in a shared, supportive living environment. During this residency year, participants engage with Friendship House staff to:
- Find and Maintain Employment
- Learn how to Budget and Manage Finances
- Receive Credit Counseling and Work to Eliminate Outstanding Debt
- Improve Relationship-building and Decision-making skills
- Continued Out-Patient Programming, if Needed
- Establish Routine Care for Doctor Visits and Health Needs
- Receive Parenting Training and, when possible, Reunite with their Children
- Address any Issues Threatening their Long-term Strategic Recovery
Must provide a positive recommendation from a residential program to qualify for the application.
Volunteer Meal Opportunities
Every night, volunteers prepare a meal and bring it to our Stage One homes. The volunteers eat with our program paritcipants and staff in a casual environment as a way to embrace family and friends of the community.
If you are interested in preparing a meal, please call our Administrative Office to sign up (302) 652-8133 or fill out the application below.
