At Friendship House, our internship program offers a meaningful opportunity for individuals to engage directly with our mission of walking with individuals and families experiencing homelessness, houselessness, or searching for a place to belong. Interns become an integral part of our community, contributing to programs that provide essential services, advocacy, and empowerment.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in areas such as direct service, case management support, nonprofit operations, community engagement, and outreach. Our internships are ideal for students and emerging professionals who are passionate about social justice, community development, and transformative care.

Whether supporting our Empowerment Centers, Clothing Bank, Housing Program, or administrative teams, interns will build skills in communication, teamwork, and nonprofit service—all while making a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Volunteers are the heart of Friendship House. Every day, compassionate individuals join us in walking alongside those facing homelessness, houselessness, or searching for a place to belong. Whether you’re sorting clothing, preparing meals, mentoring, or offering a listening ear, your time and energy help create a community of dignity, support, and hope.

With a variety of volunteer opportunities across our programs, including our Empowerment Centers, Clothing Bank, Sunday Breakfast, Code Purple shelters, and more, there is a place for everyone to serve. We welcome individuals, families, faith groups, schools, and corporate teams who want to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

When you volunteer at Friendship House, you are not just giving back. You are joining a movement of radical hospitality and shared humanity.
