As the whiplash weather of this crazy winter keeps us hopping, Friendship House has decided to invite everyone involved in winter sanctuary (either weekend days or Code Purple nights) to an end-of-winter party at Sts. Andrew and Matthew from 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 1st. Our idea is for everyone to bring whatever leftover soup is in their church freezers. Friendship House will provide sandwiches and deserts. We’ll invite all our homeless clients to celebrate it with us. In honor of our 30th anniversary, we will be giving everyone a summer cap embossed with the Friendship House logo.
Knowing Mother Nature’s sense of humor, the temperature this April Fool Day will probably be freezing. If so, we’ll just stay open later. Hope you can make it. Please let your volunteer teams know.
Visit historic New Castle and see the city transformed to a village right out of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” People will be dressed in historic garb while offering tours of the historic homes in the city square. Enjoy food, shopping, caroling and more. Benefits Friendship House!
