School Uniform Initiative

Friendship House Clothing Bank: School Uniform Initiative

At Friendship House we are committed to ensuring that every student in New Castle County has access to school uniform items regardless of their financial situation. For thousands of students throughout the county, a uniform becomes a barrier to their success. The consequences can be significant and can keep students from performing their best. Showing up to class with the required uniform can be the difference in learning that day. Our goal is to provide new or gently used uniforms to any student in need.

We know that the impact on our community will be significant. We’ve already started making a difference by providing 400 uniform items to a neighboring school, Evan G. Shortlidge Academy. For the upcoming 2021-2022 school year, we plan to provide uniforms to more schools in the Red Clay Consolidated School District. Our overall vision is large, but we know that we can do this with the loving support of our community.

What we need:

New or gently-used uniform items in children sizes 3T – 20

  • Pants and shorts: khaki & navy
  • Polo shirts and cardigans: white, navy & light blue
  • Dresses and skirts: khaki & navy
