About the Clothing Bank:
Our Clothing Bank, which now consists of 2 large warehouses, is located on Jessup street in Wilmington. We distribute new or gently used clothing to men, women, and children across Delaware. In 2022, we processed about 194,000 lbs of clothing and 5,865 people received clothing from us. We work through a referral process but all clothing is given free of charge, last year 64 referring agencies partnered with us.
Creating Excellent Outcomes (CEO) Job Training Program:
The Clothing Bank provides an empowering job training program, during which participating women work to rebuild their reputations, renew their spirits, and reinvent themselves by discovering their potential. The women learn positive work habits, fine-tune basic job skills, and receive job search support through resume development, enhancing interviewing skills, and application assistance.
Volunteerism:
Our Clothing Bank provides a wonderful volunteer opportunity for all ages and abilities. We welcome volunteers throughout the week to help sort clothing and will offer weekend opportunities for groups of 10 or more. We have opportunities for individuals, small groups, and larger groups of up to 30 people. In addition to sorting clothing, we have opportunities for drivers to assist with moving items, as well as some administrative work during the week day.
If your interesting in getting involved, please fill out our volunteer application.
