Friendship House continues to monitor the COVID-19 crisis and do what is in the best interest of our staff, guests, and volunteers. We are only accepting specific in-kind donations. Please see details below for clothing donations and contact to inquire about other in-kind donations. *Additional COVID-19 resources below

Friendship House location update & modified hours:

Clothing Bank (1603 Jessup St. Suite 3 Wilmington, DE 19802):

  • Open for donations every Thursday 8:30am – 2:00pm
  • Clothing and shoe donations ONLY
  • Donations must be in a tied plastic bag
  • No appointment needed
  • Please wear a mast when dropping off

Wilmington Empowerment Center (720 N. Orange St. Wilmington, DE 19801):

  • Please use 719 N Shipley St entrance
  • Morning Hospitality: Mon – Fri 7:30am – 8:30am
  • Sunday Breakfast: 7:00am – 8:00am
  • For appointment call (302) 652-8033: Mon – Thu 9:00am – 2:00pm & Fri 9:00am – 12:00pm

Newark Empowerment Center (69 E. Main St. Newark,Fp DE 19711):

  • Please use 62 E Delaware Ave entrance
  • Food at Door: Mon – Fri 1:00pm – 2:00pm

  • Please use back entrance

Boxwood Empowerment Center (701 S. Maryland Ave Wilmington, DE 19709)

  • Volunteers are still providing meals
